This role:
The Data Transformation Manager will manage the team Data Transformation and report the team progress/status to COO. Nathan.
This role consistently oversees the entire data transformation process, from the initial stages of Data collection, Data cleaning/extraction, and Data Transformation, through to Data analysis and Data reporting.
Given that the end user of the data transformation is always a customer, it's imperative to closely collaborate with other teams such as Sales, Customer Success, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists.
This collaboration ensures that directives align with customer needs and priorities.
The variety of data sources our team works with includes those actively collected by our team, those owned by our customers, and those previously integrated within our company.
Extensive knowledge in Data Transformation, strong collaboration skills, and previous team management experience are required.
What will you do:
- Lead and mentor a team of automotive vehicle and parts data specialists, as well as data transformation specialists, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and tracking of data transformation projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and effective utilisation of resources.
- Collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams, including Solutions Management, Customer Success, Data Quality, and Product & Engineering teams, to understand data requirements and deliver transformation solutions that drive value.
- Utilise data wrangling tools, scripts, and programming languages to streamline data transformation processes, ensuring efficient and effective data manipulation.
- Manage and optimise databases using SQL, with expertise in platforms like Postgres and BigQuery, leveraging these skills to guide data transformation processes.
- Identify areas for process enhancement and automation, driving the creation and implementation of data transformation frameworks and best practices.
- Lead by example, demonstrating both technical expertise and effective leadership skills, and scale the Data Transformation team's impact within the organisation.
Your skills:
- Strong understanding of automotive parts cataloguing standards and practices, with a solid grasp of data management processes.
- Deep experience with aftermarket cataloguing, you will have worked in, or run manufacturer catalogues. This includes a deep understanding of common accuracy challenges, common data sourcing issues, and practical realworld interpretation challenges.
- Deep experience with OEM catalogues, you will have an exceptional understanding of all major EPCs / OEM structures, including how accuracy maps to IAM catalogues
- Proficiency in data wrangling tools, scripts, and programming languages, enabling efficient data transformation.
- Experience with databases, particularly SQL, and proficiency in platforms like Postgres and BigQuery.
- Proficiency in data visualisation tools like LookerStudio, PowerBI, or Tableau to communicate insights effectively.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and manage teams while fostering innovation and excellence.
- Exceptional communication skills to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and present complex technical information clearly.
- Adeptness at scaling operational teams and driving efficiency through process optimisation and automation.
