Auckland Museum is a much-loved culture and heritage organisation at the heart of Auckland's identity, committed to outstanding management of its world-class collections, developing and sharing engaging content through its galleries, exhibition, events, educational programmes and the permanent and volunteer staff who tell the Museum's stories.

We are Auckland's home of commemoration as well as the country's oldest research institution and a major tourist destination.


Auckland Museum is searching for an experienced administrator to undertake a temporary and time bound project that involves pulling together a variety of property documents and sources to create an internal register that will meet a compliance need.

This is a short-term fixed term position up to a period of 3 months, with flexibility around how the project is completed, whether that be full time or part time.

We are seeking someone who can diligently complete this piece of work using a methodical and investigative approach. You will be a confident self-starter, taking the appropriate actions to complete this piece of work without prompting.


You will be based onsite the Auckland War Memorial Museum, providing an exciting opportunity to complete the project alongside the property team and discover the inner workings of a heritage building.


Desired Skills and Experience:

To be successful in this role, you will offer:

  • Proven administration skills including proficiency in the MS Office suite, report writing and presentations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Can create reports/outputs either from source material or from scratch
  • Strong attention to detail with a methodical and diligent approach
  • Highly selfmotivated and directed
An interest or experience in property administration is preferred but is not an essential requirement.
