The Opportunity


We are looking for a highly talented Business Development Lead to help accelerate business growth across New Zealand and expand our current client base.

This role will report directly to the Managing Director, APAC with additional support of the wider growth team across APAC.

About the Role

The Business Development Lead is responsible for creating net new opportunities using a multi-channel growth approach.

The primary measurement of success for this role is defined by achieving growth targets as set forth by the Chief Growth Officer as well as one's ability to out-pitch, out-position, out-play and out-procure the competition.

Responsibilities Include

  • Lead, manage and drive the team to develop and execute sales strategies to profitably grow revenues and expand the account base in target markets.
  • Coach, and mentor senior Growth Directors & Managers, with a handson, teamoriented approach.
  • Drive effective, accurate, and timely forecasting and pipeline reporting.
  • Team with marketing, presales, partner management and professional services to maximize opportunities and foster cohesive sales strategies.
  • Pipeline development and customer acquisition activities, including direct sales, coselling with growth team leadership, managing directors, marketing teams, partnership leads and partner growth leads.
  • Identifying areas of new opportunities within current client relationships (white space) under the guidance of client leads.
  • Designing strategies with Regional Head of Clients and market leadership to expand within client relationships.
  • Build executive level relationships for new prospects and with present clients.
  • Work closely with S4 cross functional teams on prospective deals to ensure accurate bids, compelling value propositions and a frictionless deal environment.
  • Identify, develop and prospect cold leads.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications

  • Preferred years of experience: 10 years of full cycle sales experience; demonstrated career progression and strong performance as a senior leader, ideally in digital content, platform sales or related business. A minimum of 5 years leading a sales or partnership development organization.
  • Proven track record of successfully negotiating deals at senior levels of major brands; ideally brings deep relationships from the media and agency landscape.
  • Experience working alongside producers, creatives & engineers.
  • Knowledge of technology; welldeveloped product sensibility and experience leading creative discussions regarding potentially innovative, unique and engaging context and product offerings
  • Trackrecord of collaboration and influencing across a large organization to deliver to expectations.
  • Management of a team across countries in a clientfacing environment.
  • Proven ability to use measurement and analytics to position performance data to illustrate impact.
  • Strong business development skills with experience prospecting and bringing in new business
  • Proven ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with C level and Executive decision makers at the enterprise businesses/organisations
  • Ability to build and deliver exceptional presentations to your customers
  • Develop strategic and tactical account planning/execution and implement client strategy.
  • Foster and develop key relationships. Act as the primary contact for campaign performance and review, troubleshooting, client training, new products and policy, and implementation questions.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills both remote and inperson
  • Ability to articulate and educate Clients and team members on Digital strategy, trends, challenges.
