We are looking for an Assistant Business Manager for our Hamilton retail store.

This is an amazing opportunity to exercise your leadership skills assisting the Retail Business Manager in the daily operations of the store.

This role will allow you to broaden and strengthen your retail management experience as well as gaining access to a raft of career opportunities on offer within Farmlands.

This is a permanent full time position, working 40 hour per week. (As we are a 6 day a week retail store, we would appreciate some flexibility across that 6-day period).

In this leadership role your key focus will be:

  • Assisting with delivering the strategic plan for the branch
  • Supporting the team to achieve financial, as well as health and safety targets
  • Role modelling superior customer service and merchandising to the team
  • Supporting the Business Manager to recruit and induct new staff members


Farmlands is building a forward looking and agile business and your role will play a critical part in delivery of these goals by improving productivity capability across our branch network.

We are looking for an individual with proven staff/team leadership experience, who is confident coaching and mentoring others.

  • You will genuinely thrive on developing and mentoring others but equally able to have tough conversations.
  • You will be a team player and be very customerfocussed
  • You will have strong industry knowledge of sheep,beef and dairy
  • You will be computer savvy and familiar with retail operational processes and systems
  • You will have a forklift licence (ideally but not essential)
  • You will have Health and Safety knowledge or background
