We have a permanent part-time role (0.75 FTE) for an experienced coordinator to provide technical, medical administrative and communication support to the New Zealand Microbiology Network (NZMN) and the clinicians within the Health Group.

This broad and varied role will work from both our Kenepuru and Wallaceville sites.

You'll provide a welcoming point of contact and provide efficient and helpful administrative support for NZMN members and its subgroups, the NZ National Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing Committee (NAC) and the Genomics Special Interest Group (SIG), and the Medical Reference group.

In this role, you'll be involved in organising meetings and teleconferences, whilst providing and distributing agenda and meeting minutes in a timely matter.

You'll provide administrative support to the NZMN Chairperson, Medical Director at ESR and other Ministry of Health staff for the purposes of running the network and other related meetings.

You'll also maintain effective record keeping of all NZMN documentation and deliverables. You'll have the opportunity to maintain the NZMN website, with input from NZMN members for content.

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:

  • Significant experience providing coordination and administrative support within a medical or related environment.
  • Familiarity with microbiology, for example in an academic, laboratory or clinical setting.
  • High level of coordination skills, especially in a scientific environment.
  • Preferable experience in using project coordination methods, including:
  • Time management,
  • Task management and prioritisation,
  • Risk management.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships, with emphasis on sound business partnering.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings effectively to reach agreed outcomes and follow through on decisions made.
  • Demonstrated the ability to organise self and team to meet deadlines and managing conflicting deadlines and requirements.
  • Accurate proofreading and copy checking.
  • Competent in the use of technical medical language and terminology able to build credibility with medical specialists when discussing medical/technical issues.
  • Experience working with scientific and clinical terminology
