The opportunity

This role sits within the Network Management Group (NMG), who are responsible for the operation and maintenance of treatment facilities for water and wastewater.

The group ensure that control systems and processes are in place, so our water networks are reliable and that they meet our stringent quality requirements.

The purpose of this position is to mitigate operational management site risk by ensuring that all persons onsite follow site process and procedures and to provide routine compliance and performance analysis reports for all Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants managed by NMG inhouse operations.

In essence, this is to ensure that the water from source to tap meets identified quantity and quality standards.

To be successful in this role you will bring the following:

  • At least two years experience in water and wastewater treatment plant and network processes, production and control
  • A background providing production/network control advice (experience from an alternative utility industry also considered)
  • Ability to provide recommendations that result in the optimisation of the control of treatment plant production to manage the use of resources in a sustainable way
  • Good analytical skills and sound understanding of utilising software analysis tools, such as Excel
  • Trade or tertiary qualification in water and/or wastewater treatment, with it being advantageous to have a Professional Engineer qualification
  • Current NZ driver's licence
In this position it's essential to remain calm while under pressure and composed in demandeing situations.

Your good relationship building skills will be called on as well as your ability to work as part of a close team.
