About the role:

  • Location: Wellington CBD
  • Minimum guaranteed hours of work: 37.5 hours per week
  • Hourly rate: $ $51.28 per hour
  • Terms: Fulltime, Permanent


The Portfolio Analyst role is pivotal in providing paraplanning services to our Investment Advisers and offering comprehensive investment and economic analysis to support the management of our Group Investment Funds and Private Wealth portfolios.

This position presents an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to advance their career in the New Zealand investment industry.

Key accountabilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing investment proposals and conduct paraplanning activities.
  • Providing thorough investment analysis for our Group Investment Funds and Private Wealth portfolios.
  • Generating timely, accurate, and relevant market, sector, and company information including corporate action recommendations, market commentaries, and outlooks, and reviews of underlying fund managers and investments.
  • Participating in special project work as needed.

About you:

  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of financial and macroeconomic concepts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, client focused.
  • The ability to work in a team environment Is essential.
  • Ability to use reasoning and judgement when working with mínimal supervision.
  • Ability to effectively work within a rapidly changing/expanding environment.
  • Ability to adapt techniques and processes to meet local requirements or situations.

Skills and Experience:

  • A high level of computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel
  • A relevant degree (e.g. business / finance / economics)
  • Familiarity with financial data providers and tools
  • At least one year of relevant experience
