Network Infrastructure Engineer

The company has a footprint across Australia and New Zealand, and are continually one of the top revenue generating companies across NZ and having recently acquired another business are expanding once again.


3 of the key projects will be the roll out of SAN WAN, WIFI and Switches covering the ANZ region with over 70 sites and 1500 end users - you certainly wont find yourself sat with nothing to do in this role.


There are key experience and responsibilites outlined below however what will be really pivotal in this role is strong stakeholder engagment (you will be engaging with 3rd party vendors acting as the face and representative of this company), strong technical understanding of networks and experience with CISCO Meraki or orther comparable switch alternatives.


First cab off the rank you will be across the design, architecture and documentation the project, ensuring the network, switches, and SD-WAN are cut over correctly, and acting as the primary troubleshooter for networking issues in the company environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, architect and document a network infrastructure project
  • Ensure the network, switches, and SD-WAN are cut over correctly
  • Act as the primary troubleshooter for networking issues in the Vulcan environment
  • Represent Vulcan to 3rd parties dealing with network architects and engineers
  • Work across ANZ to ensure the project aligns with business outcomes
  • Roll out SAN WAN for the business across ANZ
  • Roll out WIFI across ANZ
  • Roll out switches across ANZ covering 72 sites & 1500 end users
  • Collaborate with IT professionals such as cloud engineers, service desk, and infrastructure engineers

Requirements:

  • Solid experience as a Network Engineer or similar role
  • We are more interested in the work done within the years as opposed to a certain amount of years experience)
  • Strong experience with CISCO network infrastructure, including Meraki (or other comparable switches)
  • Experience leading or participating in a network infrastructure project
  • Familiarity with SD-WAN technology
  • WAN rollouts and WIFI design and implementation
  • A true self starter who is xomfortable with a handson roles that will require you to get your hands dirty from time to time
