About the role:

We have a great opportunity to join our Product Management team in the People & Culture branch.

As a Senior Functional Analyst, you will play a key part in the delivery of the product roadmap, shaping the future for our Human Experience products and services at the Ministry.


Working collaboratively with a diverse group of business users and products, you will be seen as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders.

You will work alongside Product Owners and utilise evidence-based knowledge input for decision making, resulting in the effective implementation of system changes.

Your workload will be constant and varied as you maintain visibility across all products. You will need to be able to keep pace with time pressures and adapt to changing priorities.

Mentoring will play a key part of your role, maintaining a high standard of delivery across all products for business groups at the Ministry.


This is a fantastic role bringing your ideas and knowledge to the team, contributing to the delivery of the Product roadmap and strategic objectives for People and Culture.

Skills and experience required:

We are interested to hear from people with the following:

  • Sound prioritisation, planning and time-management skills with the ability to respond to changes in demands and priorities
  • Excellent customer service focus with the ability to work under pressure and to tight timeframes
  • A reputation for providing exceptional customer engagement and partnership with experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships at all levels
  • Ability to create clear, open channels of communication
  • Ability to identify risks, analyse issues and readily grasp and assimilate the ideas, analysis and advice produced by others effectively and consistently
  • Experience in an HR/Payroll environment and SAP SuccessFactors would be advantageous
  • Must have legal right to live and work in NZ.
