Te Ratonga Hauora (Health Services) is responsible for the Department's overall focus on oranga, inclusive of general health, mental health, addictions, and disability.
Our priority is to provide services that support the advancement of health equity for Māori, and most importantly Pae Ora.
We do this through our strategies, policies and practices. Hōkai Rangi, our over-arching strategic direction, places the focus on oranga at the heart of our business.Building our frameworks from a Mātauranga Māori basis is our focus to drive and support equity for Māori, which in turn will contribute to achieving our outcomes of reducing reoffending.

We are advancing our commitment to transformational change across our health services, and we are excited to announce the establishment of a Programme Manager role to lead and have strategic oversight of the Health Services work programme.
The role accountabilities will include:
- Establishing, and delivering against, a programme of work that integrates all key projects and business change activities within the overarching transformation of Health Services;
- Providing robust reporting and delivery oversight for the Health Services Leadership Team;
- Contributing to improving programme management methodologies, standards and processes;
- Establishing an integrated working relationship with the Health Services Pae Ora to ensure that any programme of work is woven within Te Matatiki o te Oranga;
- Practicing a continuous improvement approach by reviewing own work methods and maintaining a positive approach to solving problems/issues.

You will also have strong experience within the programme and/or project management field, and will take a relationship driven approach to your craft.
- Experience leading and overseeing the development of complex public sector programmes/projects
- Strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Crown Māori relations.
- Knowledge of mātauranga Māori and experience embedding this into programme management methodologies and approaches.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and negotiation experience, including the ability to influence and build consensus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. This includes the ability to clearly and effectively communicate technical information to both technical and nontechnical team members.
- Ability to interface with all levels of management and to think and operate strategically.
The midpoint of the salary range is $151,581 and the full range (85%-120%) is $128,844 to 181,897. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
