We want to hear from experienced Policy Analysts to fill roles in the Strategy and Policy Group.
The Strategy and Policy group is tasked with designing and driving how government agencies work together to improve wellbeing

We achieve this through:

  • Maintaining a reputation for delivering first class advice to the Government of the day
  • Supporting the implementation of the Public Service Act 2020 and wider public service change agenda
  • Developing of excellent public policy, strategy, research and information management skills
  • Providing expertise and thought leadership on machinery of government and public management
  • Developing innovative, data and evidence driven approaches that have potential to enhance the future performance of public services, and
  • Supporting agencies and chief executives to organise around shared problems

The experience, knowledge and skills we are looking for are:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in a policy role (4+ years),
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to present complex matters simply,
  • Experience of the government environment and ability to navigate the complex policy issues to provide the best advice and solutions for Ministers, and
  • Strong influencing skills, able to build momentum and support for new ideas and ways of working.
For an analyst we usually pay between $73,300 and $ 85,800, depending on skills and experience.
