Do you love working with rangatahi?

The person we are looking for is someone who has qualifications and experience of working with and can effectively engage with rangatahi. You understand the principles of youth development and can apply these principles to your work.

The Youth Development Coordinator will support the implementation of Council's approach to Youth Development through enabling and facilitating youth development initiatives by;

  • Leading the Hastings District Youth Council
  • Supporting the Tuia programme
  • Coordinating rangatahi activities at the Flaxmere Community Centre

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A recognised industry qualification
  • Initiative and be able to work in a team environment across two sites
  • A cool and collected manner when working under pressure
  • An understanding and respect for their health, wellbeing and well-ness
  • Public sector experience desirable
  • An innovative and proactive approach to solving problems
