Tū Māia, Regional Youth Forensics Service is seeking a highly organized and results-oriented Clinical Coordinator to join our dynamic team. In this lynchpin role, you'll play a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our specialist youth justice service.

Tū Māia, Regional Youth Forensic Service is dedicated to providing specialized forensic mental health services to young people aged 10-18 years who are involved in the justice system. Our mission is to deliver high-quality, culturally responsive care that supports the rehabilitation and reintegration of young people into their communities.

Our multidisciplinary team comprises psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and nurses who work collaboratively to assess, treat, and support young people with complex needs. We strive to create a safe and therapeutic environment where every young person has the opportunity to heal, grow, and thrive.

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working in child and adolescent mental health.
  • Proven experience within the youth justice, child protection, or a related field.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to thrive in a busy environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A talent for building strong and cohesive teams, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategies to reduce team stress.
  • Experience in relationship management with legislative agencies including Police, Health, Mental Health, Child Protection, Youth Justice, and the Aotearoa Courts System.
  • Expertise in coordinating referrals to internal and external specialists, including court report writers.
  • The ability to orchestrate team interventions, psychiatric reviews, and individual and group therapy sessions.
  • A commitment to auditing clinical practice and ensuring quality service delivery.
  • A passion for research and data capture to inform service development and tell a compelling story.
  • A bicultural approach that embraces diversity and equity within the systemic framework.
  • Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives to optimize service delivery and outcomes for young people.
  • Act as a liaison with external agencies, including law enforcement, courts, legal representatives and child protection services, to advocate for the needs of young people and ensure integrated care.
