Christchurch City Council's Regulatory Compliance Unit is responsible for ensuring that we achieve community outcomes while meeting legislative requirements. Food Safety, Environmental Health, Animal Management, and Alcohol Licensing are just some areas we regulate to ensure the safety of our community.

About the team | Ko te rōpū nei

Our Customer Services & Triage Officers provide professional business administration and customer support for our field staff, namely the Animal Management Officers, Compliance Officers and Environmental Health Officers within the Regulatory Compliance Unit. The team triage service requests, allocate work efficiently and dispatch Officers following the Regulatory Compliance strategy and within relevant legislative requirements whilst delivering exceptional and timely customer service.

About the role | Ko te mahi nei

As a Senior Customer Services Triage Officer you will be able to manage the curliest of questions and smooth out any difficult situations. You will oversee the triaging of customer queries and ensure that the workload is allocated efficiently. You will be an adaptable problem solver and be able to take action, looking beyond the obvious for solutions. This role will see you exercising your leadership skills and identifying development opportunities for your team. Strong, respectful communication is a must, both verbal and written.

About you | Ko Koe Tēnei

To be successful you will have:

• Minimum Diploma in Business Administration or other relevant qualification/s with extensive experience working with legislation.
• Five years' experience in administering legislation in an enforcement/regulatory environment.
• Ability in dealing with challenging customer enquiries in a multi-channel environment, preferably within a Local Government setting
• A high degree of knowledge and interpretation of legislation and bylaws.

• Location - This position is primarily based at 10 Metro Place, Bromley
• Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $88,003 to $97,781 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
