The Role
We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Marketing to lead our marketing function and drive our next phase of growth. This pivotal role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the board, executive team, and cross-functional stakeholders.
This is a hybrid role based in Auckland, New Zealand, with occasional domestic or international travel.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute marketing strategies, plans, and budgets to achieve business goals.
- Build a deep understanding of target markets, ideal customer profiles, and customer needs.
- Lead strategic planning activities, KPI development, and performance measurement.
- Develop strong, confident relationships with the Board of Directors — presenting strategies, results, and insights with clarity, while being bravely open in addressing tough questions.
- Build, mentor, and manage the marketing team to ensure high performance and growth.
- Operate effectively in a high-growth startup environment, balancing strategy with hands-on execution, adapting quickly to changing priorities, and leaning into the stretch of rapid growth and ambiguity
Tactical Deliverables
- Brand: Own and champion the brand across the business.
- Demand generation: Develop messaging, multi-channel campaigns, and ABM programs.
- Content: Own content strategy, production, and distribution, ensuring consistency and leveraging storytelling.
- Digital: Improve SEO/SEM, AI Visibility / AI Optimization, email, social media, website, and other digital practices.
- Events & Partnerships: Drive a consistent event program and establish relationships with industry stakeholders.
- Technology: Enhance the marketing tech stack and adopt new tools, including Generative AI.
- Analytics & Optimization: Track KPIs, report effectiveness, and optimize strategies.
Collaboration & Culture
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and executive team, proactively communicating insights.
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Customer Success teams to ensure alignment.
- Champion a culture of experimentation — being open to new approaches, learning quickly, and sharing insights, always hustling for impact.
- Demonstrate FileInvite's values in every interaction, fostering a friendly, collaborative, and inclusive environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- 7–10+ years in senior SaaS marketing leadership roles.
- Proven record delivering revenue growth, brand awareness, and customer acquisition.
- Experience securing stakeholder buy-in across teams and presenting to boards.
- Experience in high-growth, early-stage, or Series A/B startup environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strategic thinker with business acumen and data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborative, accountable, and adaptable to shifting priorities.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred) OR equvilent real world experience.
- Advanced proficiency with modern marketing tech stacks (CRM, ABM, analytics, digital channels).
