About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Hand to join our dynamic team at Wairarapa Village. In this part-time role, you will be responsible for supporting the kitchen operations and ensuring the efficient preparation of high-quality meals for our residents. Based in Masterton, Wellington, this is an excellent opportunity to be part of a caring and supportive environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting the kitchen staff with food preparation, such as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables
  • Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment, including cleaning equipment, utensils, and work surfaces
  • Helping with the serving and distribution of meals to residents
  • Following all food safety and hygiene protocols to ensure the highest standards of food preparation
  • Collaborating with the kitchen team to provide exceptional customer service to our residents

What we're looking for

  • Relevant experience in a kitchen or food service environment, preferably within the Hospitality & Tourism industry
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A genuine interest in providing excellent customer service to our residents
