Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role
We are seeking passionate and experienced Registered Nurses to contribute to the education, mentoring, and pastoral care of students in our nursing programmes. These roles offer the opportunity to maintain clinical currency through structured practice, while fostering a seamless integration between clinical expertise and academic learning. Successful candidates will ensure students receive education grounded in contemporary clinical realities, preparing them for a rewarding career in healthcare.
Multiple positions are available, offering flexibility in hours of work, across our campuses.
The salary for this position ranges from $114,025 to $121,444 per annum (pro-rata), depending on the skills, knowledge, and experience the successful candidate brings to the role. These part-time positions range from 0.6 to 0.9 FTE (22.5–33.75 hours per week) and will be negotiated with each applicant. Placement requirements will be aligned to teaching responsibilities. This role will be based at either Hamilton or Tauranga Campus.

Ko wai koe? – Who are you?
You are an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse with NZ registration and a current practicing certificate. You will have a Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing or are working towards this. You bring extensive clinical experience and a strong record in teaching and clinical supervision, with expertise in areas such as Primary Health, Māori and Pacific Health, Mental Health, or Acute Care. You are confident in communicating effectively with students and staff, contributing to programme administration, and applying ICT and innovative teaching methods to support learning.
You are a collaborative, proactive, and professional team member who can work autonomously, thrives under pressure and responds sensitively to diverse student and staff needs. You are committed to academic and clinical excellence, support equal opportunity, and will uphold the University's partnership with Māori, guided by Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
