Supply Chain Coordinator - 12-Month Fixed Term opportunity
For over six decades,
Tegel
has been a trusted name in Kiwi homes — delivering delicious, high-quality chicken to families across New Zealand. We're proud to be a fully integrated poultry business, managing every stage of production from feed milling and chick hatching to farming and processing. This hands-on approach ensures the highest standards of quality, consistency, and care in everything we do.
As we continue to strengthen our global sourcing capability, we're seeking a
Supply Chain Coordinator
to join our high-performing Agriculture & Supply team on a

About the role
This role sits at the heart of Tegel's commodity import and domestic grains programme, managing the end-to-end operational flow that keeps our supply chain moving. You'll act as the key link between suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping and customs agents, and government authorities — ensuring every shipment meets Tegel's strict compliance, biosecurity, and quality standards.
From overseeing import documentation and tracking inventory levels to managing contract compliance, payments, and reporting, you'll play a vital role in keeping our supply chain operating with precision, efficiency, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all import documentation for bulk commodity shipments, ensuring compliance with MPI and Tegel standards.
- Coordinate with global suppliers, freight companies, and regulatory agencies to maintain seamless import operations.
- Monitor stock levels, raw material usage, and reporting for the commodity programme.
- Prepare shipment summaries, cost and efficiency reports, and ensure contract payment schedules are met.
- Support continuous improvement across logistics, procurement, and reporting processes.
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years' experience in logistics, shipping, import/export documentation.
- Strong knowledge of shipping documentation and MPI biosecurity processes.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy under pressure.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Advanced Excel and data management capability.
- A tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, or International Business (preferred).
Why Join Us
At Tegel, our values guide everything we do —
One Team, Hungry for Better, Do What's Right, and We Care
. You'll join a business that's constantly evolving, where your contribution drives meaningful impact across one of New Zealand's most trusted food brands.
Ready to make your mark?
