What You'll Do
Based out of our Hamilton office, you will lead, manage and help grow our Waikato property team. You and your team will work across a range of significant infrastructure and recovery projects for our clients whilst delivering great project outcomes. You will have excellent people management and leadership skills, strong property knowledge, and experience in the Public Works Act, and have prior experience working on NZTA projects. You will have impeccable attention to detail and, above all else, be a team player willing to contribute to the company, our culture and the growth of our business and your team.
Key Tasks Associated With The Role Will Include
- Lead, mentor, support and guide your team of Property Consultants to fulfil their potential.
- Undertaking staff reviews and development of your team, including recruitment and applying growth initiatives.
- Prospecting for new business, managing client relationships and developing proposals and scopes for new property projects.
- Deliver high-quality, timely, and professional property services to clients while leading your team to consistently meet or exceed objectives - producing deliverables on time, within budget, and to an exceptional standard.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring their needs are met with effective property solutions.
- Lead and support your team in a wide range of property projects that Align is contracted to deliver, which may include landowner negotiations for the acquisition of land and property rights, legalisation, easements and disposals.
- Undertake stakeholder engagement and public consultation
- Prepare and review Land Information NZ (LINZ) reports for the Crown.
- Provide property advice and strategies to our clients.
Skills, Experience And Qualities
The role will be suited to a current Team Manager or Team Leader, or a senior property professional with leadership experience who is ready to take the next step in their career.
You Will Have The Following Skills And Experience
- A relevant tertiary qualification in property or law, and relevant industry experience in the property sector (acquisition, legalisation, disposals, valuation or property advisory).
- Experienced in leadership and staff management.
- A thorough working knowledge of the Public Works Act and other relevant legislation.
- High level of experience in interpreting property and related contracts and agreements.
- A practical working knowledge of the wide range of stakeholders and environments typically affected by development, infrastructure, network utilities and other relevant projects.
- Already have or are working towards Land Information New Zealand accreditation.
- Proven property and negotiating skills and experience.
- Project management experience.
- Client relationship management skills.
- A good level of skills in the use of the Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel and MS Project.
- Knowledge of GIS systems and processes.
- Full current driving license and full New Zealand residency or citizenship.
