Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

As Digital Content Manager, you will lead the University's web publisher community to create a user-centred, accessible, and search-optimised website experience that reflects the University's brand, values, and goals.

You will provide leadership, guidance, and training to more than 230 web editors across the University, supporting them to produce high-quality, plain language content that meets best practice for accessibility, usability, and SEO. You'll also oversee content standards, maintain web resources, and champion continuous improvement across all University sites.

This role works collaboratively with colleagues across the University to improve website performance, user experience, and visibility across digital and AI-driven discovery channels.

Salary will be in the range of $99,865 to $110,392 per year based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours a week), based on our Hillcrest Campus with opportunities to contribute to strategic digital projects across the University.

Ko wai koe? – Who are you?

You are an experienced digital content professional with strong expertise in website management, content strategy, and SEO. You bring a balance of technical skill and creative insight, with the ability to guide a large, distributed publishing community toward best practice.

You will have experience managing content in large or complex organisations, ideally within the tertiary sector, and can demonstrate proficiency in content management systems, information architecture, accessibility, and analytics.

You are a confident communicator who can coach and influence others, balancing the needs of diverse stakeholders with a clear understanding of digital standards, brand voice, and user experience principles.

Preferred candidates will have experience with Silverstripe CMS, SEO and GEO tools, and knowledge of semantic HTML, UX, or Agile content practices.
