Location: Waitematā – this role will be working across West Auckland, North Shore and Rodney.
Hours of work: Hybrid – Monday to Friday (Full-Time)
Reporting to: Te Ohu Kitenga
About the role:We are looking for a Strategic Lead to help guide Te Ohu Kitenga's vision of a coordinated, effective, and culturally responsive family violence system.
You'll take the lead in building relationships, aligning local action with national strategies, and driving positive change across agencies, iwi, and community organisations. This role suits someone proactive, strategic, and confident, working both independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead strategic direction and systems change initiatives across Waitematā.
· Strengthen collaboration and shared leadership across agencies.

Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field.
- Experience influencing policy or supporting governance work.
Other Requirements:
- Legal right to work in New Zealand.
- Clean NZ driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Able to travel regularly across Auckland
Why Join Us?
This is a chance to make a real difference in the family violence sector — leading system-wide change and building stronger, safer communities across Waitematā. You'll work alongside committed leaders and partner organisations in a supportive, values-driven environment.
About us:
Te Ohu Kitenga is a multi-agency governance group leading collective action on family violence across Waitematā. Operating under the Whāngaia Ngā Pā Harakeke model of Police family violence response, we bring together partners including Police, Iwi, Te Whatu Ora, Oranga Tamariki, MSD, MOJ, Kāinga Ora, Corrections, MOE, Auckland Council, and NGOs.
We are shifting from focusing only on responses after violence has occurred to a systems change approach — working towards prevention, early intervention, and long-term healing. This work is based on strong collaboration, connection with communities, and building capability across the sector.
This role is employed by Te Rito Rodney and jointly managed by the three family violence networks in Waitematā.
