At 777 Espresso, we roast our coffee by hand in small batches to craft an exceptional blend that is both beautifully aromatic and richly flavourful. Because we remain closely involved in the roasting process, our customers enjoy the consistent quality and taste.

We are currently looking for a Production Supervisor to join our team. Working hours is between 30 and 40 hours per week. Pay rate ranges from $32 to $35 per hour, depending on level of skills and experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan roasting schedules based on inventory, production targets, and customer orders.
  • Supervise roasting operations, ensure all equipment is operated safely.
  • Execute coffee roasting and blending using proper techniques to achieve consistent quality and flavours.
  • Monitor roast quality, including cupping, taste consistency, and adherence to roast specifications.
  • Oversee the packaging to ensure accuracy in production dates, batch codes, and order requirements.
  • Coordinate with delivery people on order fulfilment and dispatch schedules.
  • Prepare green coffee beans for daily roasting, ensuring correct handling and tracking.
  • Maintain green coffee inventory, including stock rotation and monitoring bean quality.
  • Review and analyse roast profiles to optimize quality and efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and safe production area, ensure maintenance and cleanliness of roasting and grinding equipment.
  • Monitor team performance and provide coaching when needed.
  • Perform any other related duties.

Required skills and attributes

  • Minimum 2 years (preferable 3 years) of experience in coffee roasting or similar roles.
  • Strong understanding of roasting techniques, roast profiles, and flavour development.
  • Knowledge of green coffee characteristics, moisture analysis, and proper storage.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills, attention to detail.
  • Must be reliable and punctual, have ability to supervise and motivate staff.
  • Comfortable working in a warm environment near roasting equipment.
  • Fit for heavy liftings, standing, bending, and moving around the production area for extended periods.
  • Able to start at 6am and available to work during weekends.
