Auckland CBD, New Zealand Suncorp Full time

We're never just satisfied with how things are –because we know how things could be. And it's our expert Technology team who forge ahead every day to make those 'what ifs' a reality. Welcome to a place where you can chase real progress and drive real change. And that includes your own career. Being a part of Technology means being switched on, endlessly curious and always adaptable. In return, you'll be supported to bring your own ideas to the table and challenge conventions – with the aim of making life a little brighter, simpler and better for our customers and each other.

We're seeking a dynamic Performance Manager to play a pivotal role in driving the effectiveness of our Technology function. This role supports the Executive General Manager, Technology, by providing performance reporting, insights, governance and continuous improvement initiatives — enabling the function to deliver maximum value for business stakeholders, customers, and shareholders.

You'll act as the bridge between strategy, operations, and performance, ensuring the technology function is operating efficiently and aligned to business priorities.

You're an analytical, commercially minded professional who thrives on problem-solving, data-driven insights, and stakeholder engagement. You combine strong technical acumen with exceptional communication skills and have a passion for improving organisational performance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Monitor and assess the performance of the Technology team against established KPIs, FTE, budget targets, and financial operations.
  • Identify performance gaps, risks and improvement opportunities, and develop actionable plans to address them.
  • Provide regular performance reports and insights to senior leadership, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions to drive performance improvements across the domain.
  • Partner with Finance, Procurement, and Executive Managers to ensure suppliers deliver value for Suncorp.
  • Prepare high-quality executive papers, board reports, and performance packs for divisional and group committees.
  • Support the EGM with executive updates, presentations, strategy days, and ad hoc requests.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience interpreting and synthesising complex data and financial information
  • Technology or performance management experience within a large corporate or financial services environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft executive-ready insights
  • Strategic thinking and analytical ability to influence senior leaders and drive improvement
  • Structured problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience in modelling and cost/revenue analysis

What we offer:

  • Free life, salary continuance and trauma insurance cover
  • Discounts on Vero insurance & Southern Cross
  • Flexible leave of up to four days per year in addition to annual leave
  • Positive, inclusive team environment where we welcome individuality and celebrate diversity
  • Flexible work arrangements embracing a healthy work/life balance
  • $250 annually for gym membership or hobbies
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities
  • Opportunity to join the employee share plan
