Job DescriptionAbout the role
We're looking for an experienced and hands-on Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operations. This role is pivotal in driving performance, leading teams, and optimising production processes to meet business goals. If you're passionate about people leadership, continuous improvement, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment, this is your opportunity to make a real impact. This is a permanent full-time hands-on role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday at 7:30 am to 4:00pm.
What You'll Be Doing
- Oversee the smooth and efficient operation of production machinery, ensuring compliance with safety codes and maintenance standards
- Lead and motivate production teams, managing staffing, performance, training, and succession planning
- Identify and implement process improvements to boost productivity, reduce downtime, and enhance efficiency
- Conduct regular quality checks, resolve production issues promptly, and ensure adherence to manufacturing standards
- Collaborate with scheduling and planning teams to meet production targets and optimise workflow
- Monitor plant performance and energy usage, using data to drive operational improvements
- Lead prototype builds, gather feedback, and apply learnings to improve future production runs
- Support the planning, procurement, and commissioning of new machinery and automation technologies
- Maintain accurate production data and standard operating times within the ERP system (Epicor)
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures
What you will bring to the role:
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in production or manufacturing management
- Minimum 5 years' experience in production or process management, ideally within HVAC or a related industry
- Strong knowledge of production systems, BOMs, MRP, and ERP platforms
- Proven experience in machinery specification, process optimisation, and factory layout planning
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Inventor, with AutoCAD experience preferred
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and team development
