Manufacturing Production Planner

We are currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Production Planner to join our team.
Since our inception, we have been based out of Te Rapa and after a recent move to our new home near the Airport, we are bringing our three divisions together under the one roof. This means the bringing together not only of our people, but also our processes, and that includes production planning.
To help us achieve this, we're on the lookout for a planning guru. Someone who is experienced in planning a diverse manufacturing operation with lots of moving parts. You might not be from the same sector, but you will know what good looks like and will be excited about the prospect of helping to design the ways of working that you will ultimately be responsible for managing. About the job:
This pivotal role is responsible for coordinating and optimising production schedules to ensure efficient resource utilisation, timely project delivery. You will complete workforce and project scheduling, milestone tracking, and performance reporting to support the delivery of operational and strategic goals.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules in collaboration with operations, sales, and supply chain teams.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to address delays or changes in demand.
- Track project milestones and communicate risks or delays to stakeholders.
- Maximise equipment and labour utilisation to minimise downtime.
- Maintain accurate planning data in ERP systems.
- Generate reports on production performance, forecast achievement dates. inventory status, and schedule adherence.
- Analyse production forecasts vs. actuals and recommend corrective actions.
- Use data insights to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
You'll need:
- Proven experience in production planning or manufacturing coordination.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with scheduling software and ERP systems with strong knowledge of industry leading planning tools/software
