Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand Gallagher Group Full time NZ$175,000 - NZ$250,000 per year

Why eShepherd & Gallagher?

eShepherd is redefining livestock management with virtual fencing that gives farmers more freedom, flexibility, and insight. Backed by Gallagher - a global leader trusted for over 85 years - we combine the energy of a high-growth venture with the stability and purpose of a company committed to protecting what matters most. Our culture values innovation, practical problem-solving, and deep respect for farming communities.

This is a pivotal leadership role at the intersection of agriculture and technology.

As Head of Product Strategy for eShepherd, you'll drive the vision, strategy, and commercial success of our virtual fencing solution - empowering farmers with smarter, more sustainable ways to manage livestock. This is your chance to blend curiosity, commercial acumen, and a passion for real-world impact to shape a category that's scaling globally.

The Opportunity: Lead, Innovate, Deliver

As part of Gallagher, we carry forward a legacy of reliability and respect for farming communities. At the same time, we operate with startup energy - agile, ambitious, and always learning.

This is a rare opportunity to truly own the product vision and roadmap for eShepherd at a time when our virtual fencing technology is making headlines - both here in New Zealand and in farming communities around the world. You'll be at the forefront of agri-tech innovation, turning deep customer insights into breakthrough solutions that deliver real value on-farm and in-market.

In this role, you'll:

Lead the development and execution of eShepherd's product strategy and roadmap, aligned with business goals and customer needs

Champion customer discovery - engage directly with farmers, surface unmet needs, and turn insights into action

Drive commercial outcomes: shape go-to-market, pricing, and positioning to accelerate adoption and growth

Collaborate across R&D, engineering, and commercial teams to deliver high-impact features and continuous improvement

Foster a culture of innovation, integrating emerging technologies and practices into the product vision

Act as the voice of the customer, aligning teams behind a shared purpose and measurable outcomes

You'll love it here if you:

Choose progress over perfection - you're comfortable shipping work that moves us forward, even if it's not flawless.

See change as fuel - you embrace ambiguity and adapt quickly because innovation happens in motion.

Get energised by growth - you want to help build something that's scaling globally and shaping the future of farming.

Stay curious and practical - you respect farming communities and want solutions that work in the real world.

Think big, act fast - you balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution and aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves.

Collaborate to solve problems -you value teamwork and keep a solutions-first mindset.

What You'll Bring

You're a strategic product leader who thrives on solving meaningful problems and rallying teams around outcomes that matter.

You bring:

A proven track record in product, category, or value stream leadership with commercial and customer impact

Deep curiosity for customers - comfortable in the field, fluent in both qualitative and quantitative insights

Experience embedding discovery practices and validating opportunities before scaling solutions

The mindset and capability to innovate across systems - product, service, digital, and business models

Practical, disciplined product leadership grounded in commercial accountability and outcome-focused planning

Exceptional collaboration and cross-functional leadership skills, ideally in agri-tech, hardware/software, or innovation-driven environments

Join a globally connected, purpose-driven organisation where challenge, clarity, and learning are valued.

In return, you'll enjoy:
