Technology Technician – Materials

Burnside High School is seeking a motivated and organised Technology Technician (Materials) to join our Technology Faculty. This part-time role (16 hours per week) provides essential technical and organisational support across our Materials Technology and DVC workshops.
The successful applicant will help ensure our learning spaces, tools, and machinery are safe, well-maintained, and ready for daily teaching and learning. The role includes preparing and maintaining materials and equipment, supporting multimaterials projects (wood, metal, plastics, and 3D printing), and assisting staff and students in safe workshop practices.
We are looking for someone with practical workshop experience, strong organisational skills, and a proactive, team-focused attitude. Experience with 3D printers, laser cutters, or CAD/CAM systems is an advantage but not essential.
Hours: 16 per week
Remuneration: As per the NZEI Support Staff in Schools' Collective Agreement and subject to experience.
