**Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi - About the Role**
Contribute your knowledge and experience to support the next generation of engineers and architectural students. Our engineering and architectural studies technical team are looking for a technician who is ready to embrace supporting tutors and students in all aspects of a customer service support role.
In this role, you will:
- Be the first point of contact for student support requests - from stock control to assisting in workshops, every day brings something new
- Work closely with tutors and our diploma and degree students to ensure learning spaces run smoothly, efficiently, and safely.
- Maintain and manage equipment, machinery, and material stocks, including procurement and upkeep of student environments.
- Learn and operate machinery in both joinery and engineering workshops, with opportunities to upskill in laser cutting and 3D printing.
- Provide dedicated support to the Interior Design programme, helping tutors create a great environment.
- Embrace tikanga Māori and Te Ao Māori in your work, with a commitment to growing your cultural competency.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring students have the best learning experience possible.
- Collaborate with tutors to ensure student needs are met - and exceeded.
- Work as part of a wider team, including the Faculty Operations Manager and Leadership Team, contributing to a positive and productive culture.
- Champion health, safety, and wellbeing standards across all spaces.
- Foster a great team environment through respectful communication and a collaborative mindset.
- Bring strong administrative and time management skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
This role involves planning, resource allocation, quality systems and processes associated with technical operations. A positive mindset for health and safety is required as is a good level of physical fitness and a clean, full driver's license. A current First Aid certificate and forklift license is desired but can be offered as professional development.

- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to connect with a variety of people
- The ability to operate heavy machinery in a workshop environment, or willingness to learn
- Technical capabilities either through work experience, or qualifications in either Engineering or Architecture.
- Time management skills, including the ability to effectively and efficiently administer, organise and co-ordinate activities to meet deadlines
- Ability to solve technical problems
- Competent computer skills in systems and software

- Is willing to commit to the Ara Capability Framework/s
- Works co-operatively and collaboratively with others
