Health Worker – School Based Health Team

Te whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity
We have one position available for a passionate Health Worker to join our dedicated School Based Health Team in Māngere. You will work alongside our team of Nurses and Health Workers and will be supported and coached by our dedicated Team Lead. The hours for this role are 8.30am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
You will work under the supervision of our Enrolled and Registered Nurses and be responsible for undertaking health assessments, health education and health promotion activities in schools across South Auckland. You will be someone who is passionate about working with tamariki and their whānau and will be dedicated to providing quality care. Previous healthcare experience is advantageous and experience working in a community setting or in a social services role is a must.

- Strong computer skills and experience using most Microsoft Office applications
- Enthusiastic team player
- Be able to develop and maintain relationships with other health and social service providers
- Have experience working alongside whānau with a multicultural background
- Have your own reliable transport as you will need to drive between schools across Auckland (reimbursement for petrol costs will be provided)
- Ability to speak Te Reo Māori or another language would be an advantage
