Electrical Project Engineer

We are exclusively partnering with a Tier-1 Mining Asset Owner to source an experienced
Project Engineer
to support and deliver a package of
electrical-related projects
on a brownfield mining operation.

As part of the Capital Delivery Team, you will help support the planning and execution of capital projects to optimise the efficiency of operational assets.

This is a
Monday to Friday
position that requires the individual to be based in
Invercargill NZ
(or relocation too).

Accountabilities:

  • Support the safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of projects in line with approved scopes, schedules, budgets, and stakeholder requirements.
  • Provide hands-on technical support and engineering guidance to construction and commissioning teams during field execution activities.
  • Coordinate and manage engineering consultants and contractors through concept and detailed design phases, including reviewing technical documentation, participating in design reviews, responding to technical queries, and liaising with project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal disciplines, operations, and external stakeholders to ensure engineering solutions meet project, operational, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with organizational procedures, statutory legislation, and relevant internal and external engineering standards.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project execution plans, including engineering schedules, cost estimates, and work packages to support project delivery.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
    ,
    project management or equivalent related experience
  • Experience in managing electrical disciplinary works in a brownfield environment throughout the mining, construction or heavy industrial sector
    is strongly preferred
  • Proven capability to
    deliver projects
    related to the upgrades and refurbishments of
    HV/LV equipment
    including
    cables, switchboards and transformers
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with an understanding of all project deliverables
    is a MUST
  • Effective written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to manage a budget and interact across business functions
