About E-TypeE-Type Engineering Ltd was established in 1971 and delivers a comprehensive range of services, including design, manufacturing, and on-site installation of the final product.

Our design expertise covers a variety of areas, including structural components, power and process pipework (including pressure vessels), small cranes and lifting equipment, access platforms and stairways, floating berths and pontoons, automation systems, and ventilation solutions.

About the Role

We're now seeking an experienced or graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our team of design staff in a full-time role, based at our Invercargill office.

Depending on the skills and experience of the successful candidate, the role will predominantly involve creating designs, liaising with clients, managing design projects, and generally coordinating all aspects of a project until it's successful completion. In addition, you will have the chance to collaborate with a team of highly skilled tradespeople across fabrication and site installation teams.

About You

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a four year Bachelor of Engineering degree from a Washinton Accord-accredited programme
  • Have 2 years+ experience in mechanical design
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating CAD software for 3D modelling and drafting of mechanical equipment
  • Be able to apply standards and specifications in design and documentation
  • Be competent performing calculations for sizing materials
  • Be familiar with CAD FEA software
  • Display a strong enthusiasm for professional development and possess a proactive attitude
  • Be adaptable, able to work efficiently under pressure, and capable of meeting deadlines
  • Be willing to participate in site visits with colleagues to conduct surveys and measurements of existing areas for the installation of new mechanical equipment
  • Have strong communication skills

CPEng status is advantageous but not essential, and new graduates who don't meet the above criteria are welcome to apply and will be considered based on merit and potential.
