Regional Diagnostics Production Planner
- Fixed term to 30 June 2026, part time 40 hours per fortnight (0.5FTE)
- Work anywhere in the Central Region
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is the country's largest employer, delivering universal public healthcare to 5 million New Zealanders.
We provide essential hospital, specialist, and community health services across 80+ locations - from large urban centres to rural towns and remote communities.
Our goal is to improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders by delivering equitable, accessible and innovative care.
About the Role
The purpose of the role is to guide Central Region Radiology and Diagnostics services through the operational planning of services, and advance planning and delivery of service transformation, improvement, and investment, particularly that which requires regional coordination, has regional impact, or is part of the Regional Delivery Plan.
In this role you will deliver high-quality and timely analytics and planning to enable decision makers and teams to describe and improve the productivity, effectiveness, impact and outcome of Radiology and Diagnostics services and the Diagnostic Boost Programme.
The initial focus of the Diagnostic Boost Programme is on radiology with an expectation to support an uplift in the delivery of echocardiograms and angiograms.
The role will also:
- Enable visibility of current and future demand for emergency, inpatient, and outpatient imaging services originating from hospital and community referrers, including assisting with predicting impacts of changes in referring and acceptance criteria, clinical practice, models of care, policy, technology and other influences.
- Advise decision makers on how to respond to demand using demand management, continuous and transformational improvement of internal models of care, ways of working and processes, scheduling and rostering, workforce and infrastructure planning, and purchasing of outsourced services
- Identify and quantify areas of future waitlist changes and help decision makers prioritise responses and resources to highest risk areas and highest impact responses.
