Strategic Asset Management Planner

We're looking for a Strategic Asset Management Planner for our committed and friendly Assets and Performance team. This a permanent full-time role based in our central Wellington office.
About the role:
This is your opportunity to shape how we manage infrastructure across Rōpū Taiao, the Environment Group. As the Strategic Asset Management Planner, you will lead the strategic planning and management of assets, ensuring they deliver long-term value and resilience. You'll develop and maintain robust asset management frameworks, guide lifecycle decisions, and provide strategic advice on policy, investment, and performance.
You'll play a key role in achieving optimal service levels for our communities and organisation by preparing Asset Management Plans and contributing to major initiatives such as the Long-Term Plan, Infrastructure Strategy, and Catchment and Delivery Business Plans.
Skills and experience required:
- Capability in Te ao Māori in line with Greater Wellington's Māori Capability Framework
- A tertiary qualification in infrastructure, asset management, business, or financial management
- Proven experience in asset management and strategic planning, ideally with exposure to infrastructure or engineering
- Deep knowledge of lifecycle planning, investment modelling, and risk management
- The ability to lead, mentor, and develop team members
- Confidence in managing budgets and making sound investment decisions
- Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative approach that puts end-users first
- A passion for working within Local Government

The remuneration for this position, inclusive of all benefits, is $105,832 to $158,747 with a midpoint of $132,290. Starting remuneration will depend on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
