Lead Strategic ICT Procurement

Are you an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist ready to drive significant commercial value and savings opportunities for a dynamic public sector client?

We're seeking a talented, proactive professional to lead complex, end to end ICT procurements. This is your chance to make a real impact, working on diverse, high value projects across vital sectors.

What You'll Be Doing

Reporting to the Commercial Manager as a Strategic Procurement Leader, you'll be at the forefront of driving efficiency and innovation by:

  • Leading complex, large-scale ICT procurements from needs assessment through to contract award and debriefs.
  • Spearheading initiatives focused on savings opportunities and delivering commercial value.

  • Applying your deep experience across end-to-end procurement and the ICT category, including:

  • DIA Marketplace

  • Understanding of the cloud environment
  • Software development
  • Big sites & application delivery or core services

  • Food Safety (imports & exports)

  • Taking the lead in negotiating high value, high risk contracts to secure commercially sound and compliant outcomes.

  • Building strong internal relationships to influence procurement strategies and promote best practices.
  • Providing expert procurement and commercial advice to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Government Procurement Rules and internal policies.

What We're Looking For

You'll need to be flexible, resilient, versatile, positive, and proactive. You must be able to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven success in leading large, complex ICT procurements and strategic sourcing processes, including innovative procurement approaches to address complex problems.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills with experience in leading complex/difficult negotiations, drafting contracts, and establishing robust pricing models.
  • A strong track record in providing expert commercial advice to senior stakeholders and preparing high-quality briefings and reports.
  • Advanced communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
  • Either MCIPS and/or significant progress towards qualification or an equivalent tertiary qualification/experience would be beneficial but not essential
