Construction Manager – South Island

Christchurch | Main Contractor | Leadership Role

Join a well-established mid-tier main contractor and take a leading role in shaping the success of construction projects across Christchurch and the wider South Island.

As Construction Manager, you'll be responsible for the successful delivery and completion of projects, while driving continuous improvement in project performance, team capability, and client satisfaction. This is a senior leadership position reporting directly to the Managing Director, offering the opportunity to influence business growth and delivery excellence.

About the Role You'll lead all South Island project delivery teams, ensuring high standards of performance, safety, and collaboration. This position is ideal for a proven Project Manager or Construction Manager ready to take the next step in a role where your leadership, client relationship skills, and technical expertise will truly make an impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor South Island project teams, building capability and performance.
  • Oversee the delivery of projects to ensure quality, budget, and programme objectives are met.
  • Prepare and implement construction management plans.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with subcontractors and clients.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and business growth initiatives.

About You

  • Experienced at a senior level within commercial & residential construction.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • High level of commercial acumen with ability to contribute to business develop strategy and as part of the leadership team, develop business.
  • Right to accept permanent employment in NZ essential.
