Project Manager – Commercial Construction | Christchurch

Join one of the South Island's leading construction and interiors teams.

Alaska Construction + Interiors is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Christchurch team, delivering a range of projects from new builds to fast-paced commercial fit-outs.

About the Role

As a Project Manager at Alaska, you'll be responsible for the full project lifecycle — from procurement and programming through to delivery and handover. You'll lead site and subcontractor teams, manage client relationships, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard.

You'll be working in a small team on a mix of challenging and rewarding projects including educational, healthcare, aviation, and corporate fit-outs — often in live environments where planning, coordination, and communication are key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project delivery from contract award to completion
  • Lead project programming using Microsoft Project
  • Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers
  • Ensure quality, safety, and compliance with NZ standards
  • Maintain strong client and consultant relationships
  • Drive efficiency using Procore for project management and documentation

About You

  • Proven experience managing commercial construction or fit-out projects
  • Skilled in Procore and Microsoft Project
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Solutions-focused with strong attention to detail
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in construction management, engineering, or similar preferred
