We are looking for 1-3 professional and experienced Fire Alarm Technicians to join our energetic team.
This is a full-time permanent position with guaranteed 40 hours per week. The role as a base requires Monday to Friday however may include weekends and night shifts depending on job requirements along with on-call duties. This position is based in Whangarei however the successful candidate may be required to travel to different work locations throughout Northland.
You must be a New Zealand resident to apply for this position with a valid, clean New Zealand Driver's License.
The key tasks of this role will include:
- Installation and programming of fire alarm systems including wiring and components.
- Service/remedial works of fire alarm systems.
- Inspection and testing of fire safety systems to comply with specific requirements.
- Identification and repairing of defects in fire safety systems.
- Adhering to Quality Management and Health & Safety requirements.
The successful candidate will have:
At least 3 years of relevant experience
Fire alarm installation experience in conventional and addressable systems, including programming (in New Zealand).
Fire alarm service and repair experience.
Knowledge and ability in planning of jobs through to completion.
- NZQA Level 4 Fire Detection & Alarm Systems (preferred).
- Knowledge and ability in planning of jobs through to completion.
Keeping cool under pressure is second nature as is the ability to think on your feet and problem solve any issues you may encounter. Your approachable nature means you love working as part of a team and you are always willing to pitch in and help to get the job done but are just as comfortable working on your own. You must be able to communicate effectively with people of all levels, have a positive attitude and a great sense of humour.
