Drillco is a wholly NZ owned civil construction business with offices in Taranaki and Manawatu. We specialise in Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) and Trenching for the installation of undergrounds utitilies including Power, Gas, Water and Fibre. Our TrafficWorx and Locate IT divisions allow Drillco to offer a full range of services to ensure simplicity for our clients.

This dual-role position involves both Site Traffic Management Supervisor (STMS) responsibilities and general labour duties. It is a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient flow of traffic around work zones, as well as contributing to various labour tasks to support Drillco's projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implement, monitor, and manage Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) to ensure safety of workers, pedestrians, and motorists.
  • Set up, maintain, and remove traffic management equipment (cones, signs, barriers).
  • Control and direct traffic flow safely around work sites.
  • Conduct site inspections, identify hazards, and ensure compliance with H&S standards.
  • Perform manual labour tasks including lifting, carrying, excavation, and material handling.

  • Assist with site setup, deliveries, and operation of construction vehicles or equipment.

  • Current STMS qualification

  • Proven experience in traffic management and/or construction labouring
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Ability to read and implement TMPs
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Physical strength and stamina for manual tasks
  • Full NZ Driver Licence (Class 1 minimum; Class 2 advantageous)
