The Company

We are working with a leading provider in their field. As they are navigating an exciting period of change & growth, the business requires a strong technical accountant with an eye for process improvement to join for an inital 6 month contract and go on the journey with them. There is scope for this role to extend. 

The RoleReporting to a very capable finance leader (who loves making process better), your role as Senior Accountant will be instrumental in the success of financial reporting. You will be leading financial reporting to the management team & annual reporting to Board as well as driving revenue assurance activities and designing billing processes and frameworks. You will pride yourself on maintaining robust internal controls and driving continuous process improvements.

Key deliverables:

  • Prepare financial statements for the consolidated group for management and statutory reporting in line with New Zealand accounting standards & IFRS16.
  • Maintain the fixed asset registers
  • Analyse and forecast monthly financial performance, ensuring targets are met or exceeded.
  • Assess and update key accounting policies
  • Manage an effective internal framework with adequate controls over Finance activities.
  • Helping to design and implement robust processes around billing of customers and revenue assurance activities.
  • Drive continuous process improvement focusing on quality, increased efficiencies, and internal controls.
  • Liaise and maintain good relationships with consultants & external providers
  • Liaise with external auditors and manage processes to achieve excellent audit outcomes.

About you:

  • CA qualification desirable
  • Strong corporate experience (5 years plus)
  • Good understanding of New Zealand Accounting Standards, specifically IFRS16 and lease accounting.
  • Experience in driving operational excellence and value creation.
