Te āhua o Te Tūranga – Nature of the position
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Management Accountant to join our Strategy, Capability & Performance Group. This pivotal role is responsible for leading ENZ's management accounting function, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts, and providing insightful financial analysis that supports strategic decision-making.

As a trusted financial advisor, you will build strong partnerships across the organisation, empowering managers with the financial knowledge and tools they need to achieve their goals. You'll also play a key role in mentoring and developing finance team members, enhancing systems and processes, and ensuring compliance with public sector and audit requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who thrives on delivering results, enjoys problem-solving, and is passionate about continuous improvement in financial management and capability building.

Ngā tino Pūkenga / Wheako – Essential skills / experiences
To Succeed In This Role, You Will Bring

  • CA/CPA qualified Accountant with tertiary degree in Accounting or Commerce and 5+ years' experience in management or financial accounting.
  • Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis within commercial or public sector environments.
  • Strong knowledge of NZ public sector finance, including Crown Entity legislation, Public Finance Act, and tax compliance.
  • Excellent communicator with proven ability to partner with non-financial managers and build organisational financial capability.
  • Advanced user of financial systems (Business Central, TechOne, Navision), Excel, and Power BI; able to deputise for the CFO when required.
