Product Development/Compliance Technologist

The aim of this position is to provide technical support to ensure new sales opportunities are realised and current products manufactured as efficiently and effectively as possible.
A key support to the Technical Manager with everyday technical, quality and compliance tasks, the role will obtain a thorough understanding of all aspects of Technical Department operation within Richmond Foods.
The Product Development/Compliance Technologist is tasked with: Providing sales staff with samples of current and concept products, assessing new ingredients or alternative suppliers of current ingredients, reviewing and improving current manufacturing methods, developing concept products from a new product brief, commercialising concept recipes, providing and developing manufacturing instructions for new and existing products.
Skills Required:
· Analytical and Numeracy Skills
· Proficiency using computer programs including word and excel. Zubi and Microsoft Nav would be beneficial
· Ability to develop concept recipes from product briefs.
· Ability to develop product labels for new products.
· Ability to convert concept recipes into successful production process.
· Ability to follow and develop documented procedures and instructions
· Ability to collect materials and cook lab scale prototype formulations from recipes.
· Ability to collect current products, package and dispatch to customers as product samples.
· Ability to work with cross-functional team
· Ability to manage projects
· Time management & Organisational skills
Qualifications Required:
Formal qualification in Food Science or similar. Operational experience in a Product Development or Technical role in the food industry.
Experience Required:
At least 2 years post graduate experience in industry in a relevant role.
