About the role

We are seeking an experienced Carpenter/Ceiling Fixer to join our team at Queenstown. This role has multiple carpentry role options available, including working on architectural, residential and commercial sites. You will be a key part of our skilled construction team, contributing to the delivery of premium quality homes and buildings.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Installing and fixing all types of ceilings — including suspended, gib, feature, acoustic, and grid systems
  • Working on renovation and restoration projects, upgrading and refreshing existing structures to a high standard.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
  • Measuring, cutting, and assembling timber and other materials to construct floors, walls, roofs, and outdoor features.
  • Installing doors, windows, cabinetry, and other fixtures according to design plans.
  • Repairing and maintaining existing structures, including decking and other timber components.
  • Collaborating with other tradespeople (electricians, plumbers, etc.) to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work environment at all times.

What we're looking for

  • Ceiling fixing experience preferred
  • Minimum 3 years relative carpenter experience (Qualification not compulsory, but skillset must be to the trade standard of carpentry)
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools
  • Proven track record of high-quality carpentry work, particularly in the residential construction sector
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and specifications
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address any challenges that arise
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering premium quality work
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently
  • A valid driver's licence and your own reliable transportation
