Position Purpose

To provide friendly, efficient, and responsive customer service within Livingwell. The role supports customers with health and disability-related information, hire and sales services, and ensures the retail and resource areas are clean, organised, and well presented.


Key Responsibilities

Customer Service and Sales

  • Main liaison with Allied Health for hire equipment requests.
  • Provide professional and welcoming front-line service to customers, whānau, and visitors.
  • Answer customer enquiries by phone, email, and in person regarding hire equipment, continence products, assistive products and information.
  • Process sales and hire transactions through the point-of-sale (POS) system and Xero accounting software.
  • Assist customers with product information and ensure accurate processing of hire agreements and payments.

Retail and Stock Support

  • Maintain a tidy, accessible, and well-organised shop area.
  • Receive and sort stock deliveries, cardboard recycling, and hire equipment returns.
  • Monitor and restock shop shelves, hire items, and continence products as required.
  • Ensure hire equipment is cleaned, checked, and ready for reissue.
  • Advise the manager on what equipment needs to be replaced or added to the stock to meet client needs.

Administration and Organisation

  • Support Livingwell's social media presence by creating and posting community focused content.
  • Produce the weekly electronic newsletter (DIGEST) with events, news, and community information happening in the region using Mailchimp.
  • Support the team with sorting, organising, and general centre upkeep.
  • Assist with daily shop cover and provide support to colleagues during absences or

    busy periods.
  • Attend and contribute to fortnightly team meetings

  • Competent with computers, point-of-sale systems, accounting software and social media platforms.

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Excellent customer service skills and retail experience
  • The ability and confidence to relate to a wide variety of people
  • Software – highly desirable to have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, VEND POS system, XERO accounting software, P-Touch Editor price labelling.
  • Flexibility, versatility, and use initiative.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • A clean Police record

Desirable

  • A lived experience of disability
  • Experience of providing a range of information services
  • Knowledge of and a commitment to the culture of the disability sector
  • Knowledge, understanding and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NZ Disability Strategy and a commitment to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
  • Knowledge of the Code of Rights for Health and Disability Services
  • Knowledge of current Aotearoa Disability Models
  • A clean and full driver's licence
