At KidzKare, we're committed to providing best-practice supervised contact for families. Our focus is on ensuring children can safely maintain and strengthen their relationships with their parents or caregivers in a positive, supportive environment. We provide supervised contact for the Family Court and Oranga Tamariki for non-custodial parents and their children. We are looking for motivated contact supervisors to join our awesome team.

Due to the nature of our work, the days required are usually weekends, afternoon and evenings. This is a casual part-time role.

About the Role

As a Supervised Contact Supervisor, you'll create a welcoming, child-focused setting where visits can take place safely. Your role is to observe, report, and ensure the well being of the child throughout each session.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Maintaining professional boundaries while offering calm, non-judgmental support
  • Ensuring visits occur in a safe, respectful environment
  • Observing and documenting interactions accurately and objectively
  • Responding appropriately if issues arise during visits
  • Participating in supervision and training to maintain best practice

What You'll Bring

We're looking for people who:

  • Understand children and child safety principles
  • Can stay neutral and calm under pressure
  • Communicate clearly and professionally
  • Have strong observation and report-writing skills
  • Are confident managing conflict and de-escalating tension
  • Show empathy, sound judgment, and problem-solving ability
  • Have good spelling, grammar, and computer literacy
  • Professional or volunteer experience in social services, education, or related fields is an advantage.
  • Have empathy for children and parents who have complex challenges
  • A clean Police Record in accordance with the requirements of the Vulnerable Children's Act.

Full training will be provided including first aid, privacy and supervision.

This role will provide some good hands-on experience in the social sector.

We are members of Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Supervised Contact Services and provide our services within the scope of their policies and procedures.
