Te Haeata/The Opportunity

The Deputy National Scheduler is responsible for leading the delivery of scheduling functions and services across Courts and Tribunals, supporting the Chief District Court Judge's statutory responsibility of ensuring the orderly and efficient conduct of court business. You'll bring strategic thinking; an analytical and performance improvement focus, and the ability to influence across a range of people and roles.

As Deputy National Scheduler you will:

  • Manage, plan and deliver projects, improvement initiatives and business as usual processes and procedures which support OSD to deliver consistent services to participants.
  • Shape and contribute to change, engagement and communication strategies.
  • Support the Judiciary, courts and Ministry with pragmatic, people-first solutions.
  • Thrive in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
  • Work successfully with and through others to achieve results.
  • Hold a pivotal relationship that collaborates with a wide range of people including the Judiciary, senior leaders, court staff and court users.

Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have knowledge of the NZ justice and courts system.
  • Have a proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships and effective networks across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Have experience providing specialist advice on scheduling; or other experience designing and building of analytical models or scheduling functions.
  • Provide leadership across and within organisations, including experience mentoring and developing other employees and peers.
  • Lead complex projects to successful completion.
  • Understand public sector systems and processes, including the use of performance information to inform decision-making.

The Deputy National Scheduler is part of the National Scheduling team within Operations and Service Delivery. The team provides support to the Chief District Court Judge's statutory responsibility of ensuring the orderly and efficient conduct of the court business by leading the delivery of scheduling functions, as well as supporting consistent scheduling nationwide. We feed business intelligence and information on utilisation, data quality, and process adherence to the District Court to support improved court performance. The wider team is made up of engaged, welcoming people, who are passionate about the work they do

Utu ā-tau/Salary

The appointing salary for this role will be between $111,766 and $154,680 based on skills and experience.
