**Mō tēnei tūranga - About the role**

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Communications leader to join our award-winning and busy team. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive, Office of the Chief Executive, and working closely with the Chief Executive and Executive Leadership team, you will support them to build their external profiles, and identify key relationships to be built and nurtured.

As the National Manager Communications & Engagement, you will lead the development and execution of our external media and stakeholder relations strategy, and internal communications strategy, to build credibility and alignment to maintain our credible reputation.

In this role you will have the opportunity to influence and lead change across multiple stakeholder groups and to lead communications-related external relationships, ensuring the development of strategic partnerships.

The salary range for this role is $204,867 - $227,629 depending on your skills and experience.

**Ko tāu nā ki tēnei tūranga - What you’ll bring to the role**
- Senior communications and engagement professional (7+ years), including external communications (and media relations), internal communications, and strategy and execution; with proven experience working in complex organisations
- Significant experience in stakeholder engagement for executive teams and boards providing professional, timely, and effective strategic advice
- Proven senior leader with a strong track record of developing high-performing teams with good morale and culture
- Significant depth of knowledge and experience providing diverse communications solutions to a large, complex public sector organisation
- Understanding of the emergency sector
- Exceptional understanding of tikanga Māori and demonstratable understanding of the Tiriti o Waitangi
