We are challenging the status quo of internal audit. We are evolving how we do things to meet the pace of change in the bank to provide insights on the things that matter to keep our customer safe. Transitioning to a more data analytics driven function, our Audit and Assurance team continue to provide independent, objective and strategic assurance over what matters, the protection of our customers and business.
Te Tūranga | The Role:
- Leading delivery of Audit/projects for actionable insight and make strategic and tactical recommendations that highlight gaps and opportunities within ASB.
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand remediation requirements, regulatory expectations, and success criteria.
- Translate business remediation needs into data-driven analytical solutions and actionable insights.
- Perform advanced analysis and design, develop, and implement models/solutions to help answer questions.
- Perform post-remediation validation testing using independent datasets to ensure corrective actions are effective.
- Support the creation of Continuous monitoring dashboards, scripts and exception-based reports to support real-time Auditing.
- Exhibit sound understanding of audit theories, principles, and practices.
- Develops clear and well-structured analytical and test planning approaches to analyse large datasets and databases.
- Design and implement NLP driven solutions to analyse unstructured data and identify anomalies/indicators through sentiment, Cluster, classification analysis.
- Uses research, analytics, and a strong evidence base to inform decision making for Audit and business processes
- Stay updated on emerging AI, Data analytics, and Audit practices to drive innovation.
- Champion the use of AI/ML along with new tools and techniques to solve business problems.
- Use data profiling and anomaly detection to identify data quality issues, gaps, or inconsistencies driving remediation

Along with your proven decision-making ability and extensive risk management expertise, you will bring the following soft skills and experience:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with confidence and credibility, to influence and engage effectively with stakeholders across the business
- A problem solver, with the ability to see the bigger picture and identify trends, analytical skills, uses rigorous logic, analysis and methods to solve problems with effective solutions.
- An understanding of relevant risk/assurance principles and methodologies with the ability to translate complex information to various audiences
- Strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking skills, and time management skills
- Minimum 5 years' experience providing Advance data analysis, internal/external audit
- Priority setting and time management skills are important given Audit/reporting deadlines
Hard skills must haves:
- Hands on expert in Python, R, SAS, SQL skill set
- Strong knowledge of NLP, sentiment, Cluster, classification analysis
- Strong understanding of audit theories, principles, and practices and internal controls
- Hold a Master/Post-grad/Grad degree in Computer Science, Data science, Business, IT
Good to have:
- AI/ML in-depth understanding
- Strong VBA, Excel
- Power-BI
- Cloud environment knowledge would be handy to have
