Electronics Repair Technician – Component-Level Specialist
2 days ago
Are you passionate about making the world a better place through real electronics repair — not just swapping boards?
Do you love solving complex problems, understanding how things truly work, and using your skills to bring dead systems back to life?
If that sounds like you, we'd like to meet you.
About UsAt Get Electronic, we're not your average repair shop.
We're a highly skilled, motivated, and exceptionally well-equipped team of technicians based in Christchurch, handling high volumes of advanced component-level repairs every single day. From automotive control modules to industrial electronics, we diagnose, re-engineer, and restore technology that others would simply throw away.
We're looking for a special kind of technician — someone who can think on their feet, learn quickly, and has a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
Although we're known as an electronics repair lab, our work often crosses over all three disciplines. Understanding how a system fits together mechanically and electrically is just as important as knowing how it works electronically.
This is not an entry-level position.
While we'll provide training on our processes and test systems, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Proven component-level fault-finding and repair ability.
- The ability to identify electronic components and understand their function.
- Strong soldering skills — primarily surface-mount (SMT) work under a microscope.
- Familiarity with through-hole component removal and rework.
- Logical diagnostic thinking and a passion for problem-solving.
- A modern, fully equipped repair lab with state-of-the-art tools and R&D support.
- A collaborative, innovative team that values precision and continuous learning.
- The chance to make a real environmental impact — repairing and reusing instead of replacing.
- Opportunities to grow and contribute to ongoing R&D and testing projects.
