Destination Queenstown and Lake Wānaka Tourism are the regional tourism organisations responsible for positioning Queenstown and Wānaka as world-class regions striving to be leaders in regenerative tourism.

Based in Queenstown, this full-time role sits within the Sustainability & Stewardship team and reports to the Sustainability Manager. You'll play a key role in delivering member capability building events and initiatives that advance the Queenstown Lakes Destination Management Plan. From coordinating the flagship Electrify Queenstown event to supporting sustainability, stewardship, and business resilience programmes, this role is central to our regenerative tourism goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering the member capability programme and the annual Electrify Queenstown event.
  • Supporting sustainability initiatives such as carbon measurement, waste minimisation, and regenerative tourism education.
  • Coordinating stewardship and business resilience events and resources.
  • Managing event logistics, budgets, sponsorships, and supplier relationships.
  • Providing reporting and administrative support to the Sustainability Manager.

We're looking for someone with:

· Event planning experience including programming, producing, operations, logistics, scheduling and design.

· Experience with sustainability practices or destination management.

· Knowledge and enthusiasm for tourism.

· Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.

· A passion for the Queenstown Lakes region and a commitment to our values: Stay True, All In, and Have Fun.
