A national organisation is seeking a skilled Event Manager to join their Communications team on a key short-term assignment. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a massive impact quickly, leading on two hugely important projects.

We are seeking a candidate who is available to start as soon as possible (ideally within two weeks) until the 19th December hours per week, with flexibility considered for the right candidate. Wellington Central office close to the train station.

What You'll Be Leading:

Your primary focus will be providing expert, end-to-end management for the client's major annual company conference scheduled for November 26th - 28th. This includes:

  • Taking the lead on the full event lifecycle, from planning and coordination through to execution and post-event wrap-up.
  • The selection and management of any external events companies or vendors required to deliver a high-quality event.
  • Ensuring seamless coordination with the internal EA and Communication Manager.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience as an Event Manager or in a similar senior event coordination role, ideally with large-scale corporate or cultural conferences.
  • Exceptional organisational, project management, and time-management skills.
  • Experience in managing external vendors and events partners.
  • The ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a tight-knit team.
  • Any experience or appreciation for Māori cultural initiatives and terminology would be highly beneficial.
